Slippery Rock University's Bailey Library has been much quieter since a majority of students are not learning in person due to Covid-19. A building that was once filled with students studying, hanging out in between classes, and getting coffee at the cafe is now occupied by a lower capacity students and faculty who must follow health and social distancing guidelines.
Especially during these trying times of remote learning, it is important for students to have access to a resourceful place to work on assignments and help them to stay organized. For college students, the library is a place to focus on studying, leave their residence, get quiet alone time, or utilize the many resources, like school printers, Wi-Fi, or computers. The library also offers tons of study space options, even while social distancing.
A favored place to study in the library is in the individual learning spaces on the second floor. The room has a dry erase board on the wall and a computer to assist students with their work. The rooms are to be used by a single person at a time and sanitized after using.

A lot of student use the library to get out of their houses and to feel the structure and normalcy of being on campus again. A change in scenery helps to keep the online semester bearable.
SRU junior, Kaylin Tretinik, explains how she misses being on campus. She tries to go to Bailey Library once every few weeks to get out of the house, to study, and be back in the college atmosphere.

Most, if not all tables in the library have one or two chairs available. All of the tables are safely spaced out to support social distancing. Each student must wear a face covering.
