LEARNING TO CREATE A CLASS SCHEDULE IN MICROSOFT WORD
This instruction section is focused on the read/ write learning style by providing a detailed list of steps for the learner. This instruction set is also available as a downloadable PDF and Word Document.

Locate the Microsoft Word application on your desktop.

Click on magnifying glass to spotlight search “Microsoft Word”. It should be the top hit.

Open a blank document

In the top left corner of the document, click the “Insert” tab.

A bar of insert options will appear at the top of the document

Create a Table

Locate the “Table” button in the top right-hand corner of the option bar and click on it. A table grid will appear.

Place your cursor on the top left square in the grid and drag it across the boxes to create a 5x6 Table. The boxes are highlight in blue as your cursor is placed over them.

Click on your cursor to insert the table.

The table is now in the document.

Adjust Table Size

Click on the white dot icon in the bottom right corner to create a preferred table size.

To move the table, click and drag the white icon in the top left-hand corner.

Add the days of the week you have class scheduled

The first row of the table is for days of the week you attend classes, “Monday - Friday”.

Click on the first box in the top left-hand corner of the table and type “Monday”.

Click on the next box in the row and type “Tuesday”, repeat this step across the top row until each day of the week is listed in its own top box of the table.

Add your scheduled classes

The rest of the table is for your scheduled classes.

Click on each individual box to type your text.

Type out your classes in the columns of its related days of the week.

Classes scheduled on Monday will be typed in the “Monday” column.” Repeat this step until each class and its according day of the week is accounted for and is shown in the table.

Customize and color-code your schedule accordingly.

Click on the “Home” tab in the top left corner of the document

Customize text styles, fonts, sizes, colors, and highlighting using Microsoft tools

Make sure to choose styles, sizes, and colors that are easily readable.

When your schedule is complete, save your document.

Click on the “File” button in the top left of your screen to view a list of option.

Click on “Save”, A box will appear in order to edit the title of your document.

Title your document in the “Save as:” text section and choose a destination for your document (Ex. Desktop, Folders).

Click “Save” in the bottom right of the box.

Your schedule is now saved to your computer and be easily accessed as needed.
