Ugh! Anyone else have a hard time with change? Instagram's new update is just the example of a change that some of us may be loving or hating.
Instagram released a new update that drastically changed the layout of the app. Most consumers aren't exactly happy about this change. Instagram moved its "make a post" button and notifications button to the top right corner of the app layout. They used to be located at the bottom center of the screen for easy accessibility. The buttons were replaced with shortcuts to Instagram Shopping, and Instagram Reels. This is problematic to many as Instagram seems to be more worried about paid ads and selling products than its consumers who use Instagram to capture photos, create content, share it, and connect with followers. The buttons that we moved are most people's most used buttons on Instagram. Now the consumers thumbs hit the shopping button by habitat wanted to check Instagram notifications. (Picture)

Instagram reels was made to imitate TikTok in a way because trends are moving towards short video clips. Reels can now be posted but the button takes you to view other people's reels. The shopping app features items that can be purchased directly from Instagram accounts. The items on the shopping page are curated for personal interests, so many of the products are ones you'll want to buy.
Many of Instagram's consumers agree that instead of jumping into the newest fad or trend, Instagram should remember why people started using the app to begin with, which is the core features of posting photos and commenting and liking on others posts.
